The series will be available in over 240 countries and territories worldwide, with a two-part release. The first batch of six episodes will be available on October 25th, while the second part will be available on November 1st.

An Original Screenplay Inspired by the First Game


The series’ screenplay is original and inspired by the first game in the Yakuza series, released in 2005. The story primarily takes place in the Kamurocho district and follows Kiryu and his childhood friends in two time periods, 1995 and 2005.

Kiryu, a Formidable Yakuza Warrior


Kiryu, the protagonist, is described by Amazon as a « formidable and unparalleled Yakuza warrior » with a « strong sense of justice, duty, and humanity. » The series will explore the consequences of his actions in both time periods.
